Delegation/Community Presentation Request Form

Thank you for your interest in appearing before Municipal Council. The general provisions for delegations at meetings of Council are found within the Council and Committee Procedure By-law and are as follows:

• Anyone wishing to appear as a delegation or make a community presentation shall make such a request by submitting the prescribed form and all related materials to be included on the agenda no later than ten days prior to the scheduled meeting date. Please note that the length of the agenda and the number of delegations scheduled shall be considered and the Clerk will advise the requester of the earliest meeting date when their delegation may be accommodated;
• Anyone wishing to appear as a delegation regarding an item appearing on a published Council agenda shall make such a request by submitting the prescribed form and all related materials no later than 12-noon on the Friday prior to the scheduled meeting date. Please note that the length of the agenda and number of delegations shall be considered and the Clerk will advise the requester if their delegation can be accommodated;
• Delegations who share the same position on a matter or are from the same organization are encouraged to speak as one delegation;
• Delegations shall be on a subject that is within the jurisdiction of local government;
• Delegates shall be restricted to a speaking limit of five (5) minutes, regardless of whether they are representing an organization, association, or other group;
• Delegates shall not make detrimental, offensive, or insulting comments, or speak ill of or malign the integrity of staff, the public, members of Council, or other external public agencies.
